Luxurious Hand-Carved Details
The tone of a piano design must resonate down to the finest details. While all flat, curved and faceted surfaces are precisely fit with a fine layer of exhibition quality wood veneer, lathing and hand carving come into play wherever convex or concave forms are desired. These elements are hand-sculpted out of solid wooden blocks to accent your very own bespoke piano design.
Gold Leaf Applicae
Gold leaf pairs with a traditional Roccoco white and gold style case aesthetic, or it can be added to accent virtually any design. How much or how little is used is a matter of personal preference.
Accents that Draw the Eye
Less is not more, less is enough. Less is the perfectly measured amount of a beautiful thing, tailored with care to create refinement. Here we use small details, like a burled walnut cheeckblock, to adorn an otherwise traditional high gloss black piano polish.
Inlays: Drawing in wood and metal
Special projects often make use of various inlaid materials to display personal messages, symbols and more intricate designs. Inlaid brass lettering is often used to set a personal dedication or inscription into the case or fallboard. Historic Music desk
The Hand-carved Julius Desk Julius Blüthner designed and carved this gardenscape into his music desk in ca. 1882 and it endured until the 1920's. Its peaceful scene has become a hallmark of the classic Blüthner instrument and recognized by Blüthner owners and admirers around the world.
